Jay would be getting a car soon – his dad had already given the green light. Two months ago when he passed his driving test and received his driving licence, he had approached his parents for a car. Not necessarily a new car; a second hand car would do. Mum was not agreeable; however his dad was more reasonable. He would get Jay a car, provided that he fulfilled three conditions. The first condition was to help his mum with the shopping, the second was to send his sister to-and-fro school and activities and finally he must do well in his exams, all of which he had performed satisfactorily.
At dinner that evening, his dad had brought up the subject, and told Jay that they would go to the used car dealers and look at some during the weekend. 'I am so happy!' Jay thought, as he lazed on his bed. Soon he would be having his own car, and need not wait to borrow his mum’s car. He mused over the day at school when the class was given some questionnaires regarding their career aspirations. He had written that he aimed to be a robotics engineer, web designer or driving instructor.
Ever since he met Brian, the driving instructor who taught him to drive, he was certainly impressed with the work and routines of a driving instructor. It seemed a fascinating job, to tutor and coach people to use a car safely and competently. It was tedious though, and required tons of patience, especially with the older people like his mum and silly girls. Perhaps he could be in all three careers – engineer, web designer and driving instructor. He could certainly design and construct a robot and program it to drive. When it has been tested fully and could drive safely, he could further program it to instruct and tutor others on driving. It would then become the first robotic driving instructor, and eventually replace the humans. He could create a driving school from this, or even hire out or sell his robotic instructors. Furthermore, the driving practice test could be restructured and made online. It would be like an online test, where student drivers could first try it in simulator or virtual mode. It is better and safer for them, than driving a real car and getting it smashed up in an accident. 'This is getting very exciting, planning my future and getting so rich.' Jay thought, 'I won't be able to get any sleep tonight!'
